Your Tasks
Head of Franchise is a senior leadership role within the Brand and Marketing Team, reporting to the Director, Brand and IP.
- This is a senior, strategic role with a global remit
- You and your team will develop the IP vision and deliver the brand / marketing campaigns for a portfolio or products and IP
- You will be responsible for the long term brand health and commercial success your portfolio
- Managing a cross-functional team of Brand and Marketing professionals, and working closely with all areas of the publishing business, you will drive your portfolio to success
- Working with Business Development, Product Development and Development studios, set the coherent long term brand / commercial vision for your portfolio of titles
- With Product Development, ensure the games within your portfolio achieve the scope and quality to meet that brand / commercial vision
- Own the P&L for your portfolio
- Lead your team of Brand and Marketing professionals to define and develop the appropriate brand goals and marketing strategies to maximise the potential of the franchise(s)
- Drive PLAION’s internal partnership teams and external partners to develop appropriate brand extension, cross overs and transmedia opportunities
- Build and maintain excellent working relationships and communication with all internal stakeholders – Studio, Product Development, and Marketing and Commercial teams at central and local level
- With the Marketing and Commercial teams define forecast and commercial expectations for the brand
- Be accountable for the Brand and Marketing budget for the your portfolio
- Ensure the effectiveness of all go-to-market activities across
Your Profile
- Proven experience in a strategic brand / marketing manager role at a central level, with local marketing experience a bonus
- Substantial career experience within the games industry, ideally with exposure to multiple aspects of the business
- In depth knowledge of the Western ‘AAA’ games market and marketing strategies and channels, including PR, social, community and retail
- Experience leading creative projects with external agencies and partners
- Strong project and budget management experience
- Educated to Graduate level or a professional equivalent i.e. MBA
- Fluent in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced of MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
- Exceptional communication skills - a confident presenter, able to communicate varied topics including product information, commercial data and rationale, a clear creative vision and complex marketing initiatives that can motivate stakeholders
- Keen commercial instincts and acumen – able to create and challenge business models and assumptions in a changing market
- Creative and critical thinker - able to translate product strengths and brand values into innovative and compelling campaign creative
- A keen attention to detail and an ability to multi-task – self-motivated, with good time management skills
- Leadership and line management – able to effectively manage a Brand Assistant, as well as inspiring other colleagues and stakeholders
